ABOUT MOUNTAINBIKE

Hi, I'm Sandro Schmid – a passionate mountain biker from Chur, Graubünden. For over 15 years, my life has revolved around bikes. It all started with BMX and downhill racing, but over time, I've broadened my horizons and explored enduro, dirt jumping, e-biking, and creative media work.

Since 2019, I've been living my dream as a full-time mountain biker. I'm not just an athlete, but also a content creator, bike coach, guide, photographer, speaker, show rider, and YouTuber. I share my adventures on my social media channels and in various projects – always with the goal of sharing my passion for biking.

You might recognize me from "Return to Earth," a feature film featuring the greatest mountain bikers of all time from Anthill Films, or the video series "Ride Check" on Ride MTB, where I explore spectacular trails in Switzerland and Europe. My highlights include tours in the Dolomites, the Black Forest, and Switzerland's longest singletrack. My film "Heartbeat," which I produced together with Trek Bikes, showcases my passion for big jumps, technical terrain, and nature.

On the side, I run my own clothing brand “Living the Dream” – because that somehow suits me exactly: Keep the Dream Alive.

Since 2019 I have been living full-time in my self-converted motorhome, a Mercedes Benz Sprinter with a box body.

ABOUT MOTO

I have discovered motorcycling for myself for 1.5 years now.

Off-road, traveling around the world alone is my new passion and that's how I earn my money as a content creator and brand ambassador.

But how did I get into motorcycling?

I was on a bikepacking trip in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan and experienced the crisis of my life. I aborted the mission and booked a flight back home.

I had three days left before my flight, so I rented a 125cc chopper motorcycle and explored southern Kyrgyzstan with a tent. My heart was restored and my passion for adventure bikes was ignited!

Back in Switzerland, after three days, I bought a Tenere700 and immediately after two weeks I set off again on a TET tour in the Italian/French Alps.

After two months, I headed straight to Africa. I originally just wanted to explore Morocco, but suddenly I was in Mauritania on my way to Dakar.

Since almost everyone is already going to Dakar, I'm also going to Gambia and southern Senegal.

From then on I was really infected with the Adventure Moto virus!
